MIMF 2026 Aims to Drive Manufacturing Innovation, Export Growth and Regional Business Partnerships

KUALA LUMPUR, July 1 — The 37th Malaysia International Machinery Fair (MIMF) is expected to strengthen Malaysia’s manufacturing ecosystem by bringing together technology providers, manufacturers and investors, with organisers targeting more than 10,000 trade visitors and up to 800 exhibition booths this year.

The annual exhibition is positioning itself as a regional platform for industrial innovation, offering businesses opportunities to explore advanced manufacturing technologies, expand commercial partnerships and accelerate export readiness.

Dewan Perniagaan Usahawan Malaysia (DPUM) president Datuk Seri Abu Hasan Mohd. Nor said the exhibition will feature strong participation from both Malaysian and international companies, reflecting continued confidence in Malaysia’s manufacturing sector and its role as a regional production hub.

Speaking at a media briefing in Kuala Lumpur, he encouraged more Bumiputera entrepreneurs to participate in the exhibition to gain exposure to modern manufacturing technologies capable of improving productivity, reducing operational costs and enhancing production efficiency.

Among the technologies to be showcased are advanced food processing systems, packaging equipment, industrial labelling solutions and retort technology, with machinery investments ranging between RM200,000 and RM500,000 depending on system specifications and production capacity.

Abu Hasan said this year’s exhibition will also place greater emphasis on the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) within manufacturing operations, enabling companies to improve product quality, optimise production processes and meet international standards required for global markets.

He noted that digital transformation and industrial automation have become increasingly important as manufacturers seek to remain competitive in a rapidly evolving business environment.

“MIMF is designed to help manufacturers embrace automation, digitalisation and intelligent manufacturing while strengthening their ability to compete internationally,” he said.

Held under the Malaysia International Food Processing, Packaging & Bakery Equipment Exhibition (MY-PACK PRO) 2026, the event is expected to serve as a key meeting point for businesses involved in food processing, packaging technology, industrial machinery and automation across Asia.

With this year’s theme centred on export readiness, organisers hope the exhibition will encourage more Malaysian manufacturers to adopt advanced technologies and expand into overseas markets through greater innovation and higher production standards.

Since its establishment in 1989, MIMF has evolved into one of Malaysia’s longest-running industrial machinery exhibitions, supporting the country’s manufacturing development for more than three decades.

The 2026 edition is expected to attract over 10,000 professional trade visitors, including manufacturers, distributors, importers, exporters, investors, government agencies, industry associations and business leaders from Malaysia and abroad.

More than 700 exhibition booths will participate in this year’s event, with around 70 per cent represented by international companies from China, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Thailand, Vietnam, India and Germany, alongside Malaysian exhibitors, highlighting the exhibition’s growing regional and international reach.
