Langkawi International Airport Retains Asia Pacific’s Top Spot With Fifth Consecutive Win

ALOR SETAR, Feb 26 — Langkawi International Airport has once again emerged as Asia Pacific’s top airport in its category, marking its fifth consecutive victory at the 2025 Airport Service Quality Awards.

The award, presented by Airports Council International, recognises airports that deliver outstanding service and passenger satisfaction.

Unlike many industry awards, the ASQ rankings are based entirely on passenger feedback, evaluating experiences across key service areas such as efficiency, comfort, cleanliness, and convenience.

Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd managing director Datuk Mohd Izani Ghani said the continued recognition reflects a strong commitment to service excellence.

He said the milestone is particularly significant as Malaysia prepares to welcome more international tourists under its Visit Malaysia 2026 initiative.

“This achievement shows that Langkawi International Airport continues to exceed passenger expectations,” he said.

Vital Gateway to One of Malaysia’s Most Popular Destinations

Langkawi International Airport serves as a crucial link between travellers and one of Malaysia’s top tourist destinations.

The airport handled approximately 2.9 million passengers last year, including both domestic and international travellers.

The increase in passenger numbers reflects Langkawi’s growing appeal among global visitors.

Its role in supporting Malaysia’s tourism industry is expected to become even more important in the coming years.

Ongoing Investments to Maintain High Standards

Malaysia Airports said it remains committed to enhancing facilities and improving services.

Plans include further investment in infrastructure, digital systems, and passenger amenities.

These efforts are aimed at ensuring smooth and comfortable travel experiences.

Langkawi International Airport’s consistent success has established it as a leader in airport service quality.

The recognition also strengthens Malaysia’s reputation as a welcoming and competitive tourism destination.
