Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel Singapore Earns ASEAN MICE Venue Award 2026, Reinforcing Regional Excellence
SINGAPORE: Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel Singapore has further strengthened its reputation as a premier business events destination after receiving the ASEAN MICE Venue Award 2026 in the Meeting Room Category.
The prestigious recognition was granted under the ASEAN MICE Venue Standard (AMVS) framework and officially presented at the ASEAN Tourism Standards Awards Ceremony during the ASEAN Tourism Forum held in Cebu, Philippines, on January 30.
The award honours venues that meet stringent regional benchmarks in infrastructure quality, safety standards, service excellence, and operational efficiency, positioning them as leading players in Southeast Asia’s MICE industry.
In 2026, only 41 establishments across all ten ASEAN member states achieved this distinction following comprehensive on-site audits. These assessments examined building structure, soundproofing systems, technical facilities, safety compliance, and overall customer experience.
Grand Copthorne Waterfront emerged as one of only two hotels in Singapore to secure the award, highlighting its strong regional competitiveness and reinforcing the country’s status as a leading MICE destination.
General Manager Andrew Tan described the achievement as a reflection of the team’s consistent commitment to delivering high-quality and seamless meeting experiences.
He noted that the recognition validates the hotel’s focus on operational excellence, service innovation, and customer satisfaction.
“This award affirms the high standards we maintain across our facilities and operations. It motivates us to continue enhancing our offerings and creating exceptional experiences for our clients and partners,” he said.
Vice President of Operations for Southeast Asia and North America, Benedict Ng, added that the accolade demonstrates the effectiveness of the hotel’s long-term investment strategy.
He emphasised that continuous investment in people development, infrastructure upgrades, and digital technologies has been crucial in maintaining service consistency and operational reliability.
The recognition also reflects the impact of the hotel’s US$40 million refurbishment completed in late 2023, which significantly enhanced its meetings and events capabilities.
Currently, the property features more than 6,200 square metres of meeting and event space, including naturally lit conference rooms and three pillarless ballrooms covering 1,385 square metres. These venues are designed to support in-person, hybrid, and virtual events with advanced audio-visual systems and high-speed connectivity.
Located along the Singapore River, the hotel offers a distinctive environment that combines business functionality with premium hospitality, appealing to international conference organisers and corporate clients.
Industry analysts believe that this ASEAN recognition will further elevate the hotel’s profile among global event planners while strengthening Singapore’s position as a strategic hub for meetings, incentives, conventions, and exhibitions.
With demand for high-quality business venues continuing to rise across the region, Grand Copthorne Waterfront is expected to play an increasingly important role in supporting Southeast Asia’s growing MICE ecosystem.
