Voltage Energy Plans Global Headquarters and Manufacturing Hub in Roxboro

CHAPEL HILL, United States — Voltage Energy Group has announced plans to establish its Global Headquarters and a major manufacturing facility in Roxboro, North Carolina, marking a significant milestone in the company’s long-term expansion strategy.

The U.S.-based solar and clean energy solutions provider revealed that it has acquired and begun upgrading a 72-acre site in Person County, featuring more than 246,000 square feet of manufacturing space. Once fully operational, the facility is expected to serve as the company’s primary global hub, supporting large-scale production and international operations.

Founded in 2015 and currently headquartered in Chapel Hill, Voltage Energy has built its reputation by delivering electrical balance of systems (EBOS) solutions for utility-scale solar projects worldwide. The planned relocation of its global headquarters to Roxboro reflects the company’s commitment to strengthening its operational base in North Carolina while expanding its global footprint.

Company executives said the new facility will play a central role in scaling production capacity, improving supply chain efficiency, and supporting customers across North America, Europe, and Asia. In addition to manufacturing, the site will host administrative, engineering, and research functions, reinforcing Roxboro’s position as a strategic centre for clean energy innovation.

As operations ramp up, the Roxboro facility is expected to generate new employment opportunities and stimulate economic growth in the surrounding community. Voltage Energy also plans to maintain elevated investment levels over the next three years to support workforce development, infrastructure upgrades, and long-term regional partnerships.

Bob Slack, Chief Technology Officer of Voltage Energy, said North Carolina has always been the foundation of the company’s growth. He noted that expanding manufacturing and establishing the global headquarters in Roxboro demonstrates the company’s confidence in the region’s talent pool, business environment, and clean energy ecosystem.

Local leaders have welcomed the investment as a major boost to Person County’s economic development efforts. Officials highlighted the project’s potential to strengthen the local tax base, diversify the manufacturing sector, and attract additional high-tech and renewable energy businesses to the area.

The company is also expected to collaborate closely with nearby educational institutions, including Piedmont Community College, to support technical training and workforce readiness. These partnerships aim to create clear pathways for students and residents to access skilled jobs in the growing clean energy industry.

With its planned Global Headquarters in Roxboro, Voltage Energy is positioning itself for sustained growth in the rapidly expanding renewable energy market. The move underscores the company’s strategy of building a globally competitive operation rooted in American manufacturing and innovation.
