Family Malaysia Foundation Supports 13 SPM Graduates in Pursuing Higher Education
PETALING JAYA, July 3 — Thirteen students under the Family Malaysia Foundation (Yayasan Keluarga Malaysia, YKM) have secured places in higher education institutions following strong performances in the 2025 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination, marking an important milestone in the foundation’s education support programme.
The students represent nearly 40 per cent of the 33 YKM beneficiaries who sat for the national secondary school examination last year.
Former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ismail Sabri Yaakob, who chairs the foundation, said the achievement demonstrates how sustained educational support can create greater opportunities for children from families requiring financial and social assistance.
He congratulated the students for earning places in institutions of higher learning, saying their success reflected the positive impact of continuous encouragement, discipline and access to educational resources.
“These achievements show that with the right guidance and support, young people are capable of building brighter futures through education,” he said in a statement.
Despite the encouraging results, Ismail Sabri said the foundation aims to increase the proportion of students continuing their education after completing secondary school.
He said YKM’s long-term objective is for more than half of its SPM graduates each year to enrol in higher education or post-secondary training programmes.
The 13 successful students have been accepted into various academic pathways, including Form Six, diploma programmes, matriculation, foundation studies, certificate courses and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
Among the top-performing students is Aisyah Maharuddin, who achieved 10A in the SPM examination and has enrolled at Negeri Sembilan Matriculation College.
Two other high achievers, Nurhanani Ainah Khafizan and Nur Aqilah Alya Mohamad, who each obtained 9A, have begun one-year foundation programmes at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Dengkil.
To assist the students with the transition to campus life, YKM will begin disbursing financial assistance directly into their bank accounts starting tomorrow.
According to Ismail Sabri, the aid is intended to help ease initial expenses as students prepare to begin their studies.
He said the foundation remains committed to supporting its beneficiaries throughout their educational journey and will continue providing assistance whenever its financial resources permit.
Looking ahead, YKM plans to strengthen its educational development initiatives through programmes such as the SPM 2026 Motivation Camp, organised in collaboration with tuition provider MC PLUS.
The foundation has set a target of helping at least 10 participating students achieve five A grades or more in the 2026 SPM examination as part of its broader effort to improve academic outcomes among children under its care.
