Johor Royal Institution and State Government Pledge Continued Support for Malaysian Armed Forces Training
PETALING JAYA: The Johor Royal Institution and the state government have reaffirmed their commitment to fully support military training and exercises involving the Angkatan Tentera Malaysia in the state.
Regent of Johor Tunku Ismail Idris said military exercises are crucial in strengthening operational readiness, enhancing troop capabilities and ensuring the nation’s defence preparedness remains at the highest level.
According to him, the Angkatan Tentera Malaysia should be given the necessary space, authority and cooperation to conduct essential training activities for national security and sovereignty.
Johor to Continue Providing Full Cooperation
Tunku Ismail Idris assured that Johor would continue to provide full cooperation for military operational exercises without unnecessary obstacles.
“I stand firmly with the Malaysian Armed Forces and my unwavering support will always remain with the nation’s military personnel under all circumstances,” he said in a post published on the official HRH Crown Prince of Johor Facebook page.
He also stressed that the sacrifices and dedication shown by military personnel in defending the country must always be respected and appreciated.
Equal Respect for All Military Units
In the same statement, Tunku Ismail Idris emphasised that there should not be any unequal treatment towards specific military units or regiments.
He said every individual wearing the military uniform serves the nation with honour, loyalty and sacrifice, and deserves the highest level of recognition and respect.
The Regent added that his support extends not only to active military personnel but also to retired and soon-to-retire members of the armed forces.
“The doors of Johor will always remain open to them as a sign of appreciation for their invaluable service and sacrifices to the country,” he said.
National Security Council Confirms Coordinated Exercises
Earlier, Majlis Keselamatan Negara confirmed that military exercises in Johor would be carried out in close coordination with the state government and relevant agencies.
According to the council, the cooperation is intended to ensure all exercises are conducted in an organised, safe and responsible manner in line with national security interests and public well-being.
Observers view Johor’s stance as a strong signal highlighting the importance of maintaining defence readiness amid evolving regional and global security challenges.
