Yayasan Harik Distributes Aid to 104 Asnaf Families in Titiwangsa Ahead of Aidilfitri

Food basket initiative aims to ease financial burden for underprivileged communities

KUALA LUMPUR, March 4 — Yayasan Harik has continued to strengthen its humanitarian efforts by distributing “bakul rezeki” aid packages to 104 recipients from the asnaf community in the Titiwangsa parliamentary constituency ahead of the upcoming Aidilfitri celebration.

The charitable programme was held at Masjid Al-Akram in Kampung Datuk Keramat, where essential food supplies were handed over to families in need as part of an initiative aimed at easing the rising cost of living faced by low-income households.

Founder of Yayasan Harik, Harik Fauzi, said each recipient received a food basket containing basic necessities such as rice, cooking oil, sugar, salt, flour and other everyday kitchen essentials.

According to him, the initiative was designed not only to support daily household needs but also to help families prepare for the festive season with greater peace of mind.

Harik explained that Yayasan Harik was officially established on February 5 this year as a structured platform to expand charitable activities that he had previously carried out independently.

Prior to the formation of the foundation, he had been actively involved in community outreach and aid initiatives since 2021, focusing on assisting individuals and families facing financial hardship.

He said the creation of the foundation would allow these efforts to be organised more systematically while enabling broader participation from individuals and organisations interested in contributing to social causes.

“The establishment of Yayasan Harik provides a platform for us to expand our charitable movement in a more organised manner. Previously I carried out these initiatives on my own, but now we can extend our reach and help more people in need,” he said.

Harik emphasised that the foundation was not established for profit but instead functions entirely as a charitable organisation dedicated to community welfare.

He added that the scale and scope of its programmes largely depend on the support and resources available through partnerships and contributions from various parties.

The aid distribution programme was carried out in collaboration with the Office of the Titiwangsa Member of Parliament, which helped identify eligible recipients and ensure the assistance reached those most in need.

Through this collaboration, organisers were able to coordinate the programme more efficiently while ensuring transparency and fairness in the distribution process.

Harik, who is also known for his grassroots activism, said the funds used to support the corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme were generated through his business ventures.

These include revenue from his coffee brand Kopi Pak Erik as well as BR Design Sdn Bhd, alongside contributions from supporting partners and collaborators.

He acknowledged that running charitable programmes comes with its own challenges but believes that consistent efforts and strong community support can bring meaningful change.

“Every charitable initiative has its challenges, but when it is carried out consistently and with sincere intentions, it can have a significant positive impact on society,” he said.

Harik also emphasised that Yayasan Harik welcomes collaboration with individuals, non-governmental organisations and corporate entities interested in supporting community welfare initiatives.

Such collaborations could include sponsorship of essential goods, financial contributions or other forms of logistical support aimed at expanding the foundation’s outreach programmes.

The foundation’s guiding principle is reflected in its tagline, “Rakyat Untuk Rakyat” (People for the People), which highlights the spirit of community-driven support and solidarity.

Members of the public who wish to learn more about Yayasan Harik’s activities and upcoming CSR initiatives can follow updates through Harik Fauzi’s TikTok platform.
