Dadi Cinema Pavilion KL to Cease Operations From March 5

Closure follows end of tenancy while Kedah outlet continues business as usual

KUALA LUMPUR, March 4 — Dadi Cinema has announced that its outlet at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur will cease operations following the expiration of its tenancy at the prominent shopping mall.

The cinema chain revealed the decision through a statement posted on its official Instagram account earlier today.

According to the announcement, the Pavilion KL branch will operate for the final time on March 4, with the outlet officially shutting down starting March 5, 2026.

“With heavy hearts, we would like to inform our patrons that the Dadi Cinema Pavilion KL outlet will cease operations due to the end of our tenancy,” the management said in the statement.

The company also took the opportunity to thank customers who had supported the cinema throughout its years of operation at the location.

Dadi Cinema expressed appreciation to moviegoers who had visited the outlet and contributed to its journey as part of Pavilion Kuala Lumpur’s entertainment offerings.

During its years of operation, the cinema had become a popular venue for film enthusiasts visiting the mall, providing audiences with access to both local and international film screenings.

Its presence added to the range of entertainment options available at Pavilion KL, one of the capital city’s most prominent retail and lifestyle destinations.

The closure marks the end of Dadi Cinema’s operations at the Kuala Lumpur location after several years of serving moviegoers in the busy shopping district.

Despite the shutdown of the Pavilion KL outlet, the cinema chain confirmed that its branch in Kedah will continue to operate normally.

The Dadi Cinema outlet located at Dadi Central Square in Kedah remains open and will not be affected by the closure in Kuala Lumpur.

Customers in Kedah will still be able to enjoy movie screenings and other cinema services as usual.

At this stage, the company has not announced any plans regarding future expansion or the possibility of opening new outlets elsewhere in Malaysia.

Nevertheless, the closure represents a shift in the company’s presence within the local cinema industry.

The development also reflects the changing dynamics of the movie exhibition sector, which continues to adapt to evolving consumer habits and the growing influence of digital entertainment platforms.
