“Please Respect My Privacy” – Amira Othman Responds Firmly to Pregnancy Rumours
KUALA LUMPUR — Malaysian singer Amira Othman has once again urged the public to respect her privacy amid persistent speculation surrounding her alleged pregnancy.
Amira, whose full name is Nadia Amira Othman, said she prefers to keep her personal life private and will only share major updates when she feels the time is right.
She stressed that her decision is aimed at protecting her emotional well-being and family harmony, rather than avoiding public attention.
“Until the time comes, I hope everyone can give me some space. If there is good news, I will share it myself,” she said at the Amber 2026 launch event in Kuala Lumpur.
She also expressed gratitude to her fans for their continued support and prayers, which she described as a source of strength.
Addressing repeated questions about her personal life, Amira admitted that she has become accustomed to dealing with public curiosity as part of her career.
“This is part of being a public figure. People will always ask, even if you have already answered before,” she explained.
She added that similar situations often occur during her live sessions on social media platforms, where personal matters tend to dominate discussions.
“Sometimes I go live to talk about work, but most questions are about my private life,” she said.
While acknowledging fans’ concern, Amira emphasised the importance of healthy boundaries between public and private life.
“I understand people care, but I also hope they can respect our personal space,” she added.
Speculation about her alleged pregnancy began after several online photos and videos were interpreted by netizens as showing physical changes.
Rumours were further fuelled by claims that she had been hospitalised and was facing health issues, which allegedly prevented her from travelling with her husband.
Amira dismissed these reports as baseless and exaggerated, noting that misinformation often spreads quickly online.
“Sometimes one picture can turn into a long story. That’s the reality of social media,” she said.
For the record, Amira married actor Fattah Amin on September 14 last year, coinciding with his 35th birthday.
Since their marriage, the couple has remained under constant public scrutiny and media attention.
Despite this, Amira believes that marriage and family life should remain protected from unnecessary speculation.
“At this stage, I want to focus on my career, my marriage, and my mental well-being,” she said.
She also urged the public to be more responsible when sharing and commenting on unverified information.
According to Amira, maintaining emotional stability is crucial in the entertainment industry, where public pressure can easily affect mental health.
She concluded by calling on fans and media outlets to continue supporting her artistic journey while allowing her to live her personal life with dignity and peace.
