Mila Mohsin Joins Aisha Retno as Second Puteri in ‘Puteri Gunung Ledang’ Musical Revival

PETALING JAYA: The mystery surrounding the second lead actress for the upcoming revival of Teater Muzikal Puteri Gunung Ledang has finally been unveiled after Mila Mohsin was officially announced as one of the actresses portraying the iconic Puteri character alongside Aisha Retno.

The announcement was made through the production’s official Instagram platform, introducing the 29-year-old performer, whose full name is Hani Karmila Hani Mohsin, as the second Puteri for the highly anticipated stage production.

In the announcement, the production described Mila Mohsin as someone who grew up closely connected to the legendary world of Puteri Gunung Ledang, witnessing its emotional depth, sacrifice and enduring magic over the past two decades.

The statement added that the time had now come for her to step directly into the legendary narrative herself.

This latest staging marks the first time the musical production will feature two actresses sharing the role of the Puteri character in the epic theatre adaptation.

According to the production team, the selected actresses not only inherit the legacy attached to the iconic role but are also expected to carry the emotional soul and artistic spirit that have long defined the musical’s identity.

Earlier announcements had already revealed several cast members for the production, including Mimy Fly, Nadia Aqilah, Luqman Hafidz, Yusuf Hashim and Aisha Retno, who will portray characters such as Bayan, Sultan Melaka, Gusti Adipati and one of the Puteri roles.

The production team also confirmed that the actor for the legendary warrior character Hang Tuah, along with another Puteri role, will be announced in the near future.

The revival of Teater Muzikal Puteri Gunung Ledang is led by executive producer and director Tiara Jacquelina and is scheduled to return to the stage in October 2026.

The new production is expected to introduce a fresh generation of performers while reimagining one of Malaysia’s most iconic theatrical works for contemporary audiences.
