Lepro Launches AI-Powered STV1 Smart TV Backlight for More Immersive Home Entertainment
LAS VEGAS: Lepro has unveiled STV1, a new smart TV backlight system that combines real-time screen synchronization, artificial intelligence-powered lighting features and simplified installation to enhance home entertainment experiences.
The new product is designed for users who enjoy movies, gaming, live sports and music by extending television visuals beyond the screen and into the surrounding room environment through synchronized ambient lighting.
According to Lepro, STV1 is intended to create a more immersive viewing atmosphere by allowing lighting effects to react dynamically to on-screen content in real time.
Unlike conventional TV backlight systems, STV1 also functions as an AI-driven lighting platform equipped with LightGPM 4 AI Lighting Designer technology.
The feature enables users to generate customized lighting scenes through voice commands, text prompts or image inputs, allowing entertainment spaces to be tailored for movie nights, gaming sessions, sports viewing or different moods.
“STV1 is designed not only as a screen-sync lighting product but also as an AI-powered entertainment lighting system for the living room,” the company said during the product announcement.
To improve synchronization performance, the system uses LightIMS Instant Sync technology powered by a high-performance processing chip and Lepro’s proprietary synchronization platform.
According to the company, the technology delivers response times up to 36 per cent faster than comparable competing products based on internal testing.
The faster response capability is particularly useful for fast-moving content such as action films, console gaming, rapid scene transitions and live sporting events where visual changes occur continuously.
Lepro said delayed ambient lighting can reduce immersion by causing lighting effects to fall behind the television image, while STV1’s faster synchronization helps maintain smoother and more natural visual continuity.
For colour accuracy, STV1 incorporates True-to-Screen Color technology that combines RGBIC LEDs, proprietary image-processing algorithms and Lepro Lens Correction to deliver more precise colour matching.
The system uses an ultra-wide fisheye camera lens with a field of view exceeding 180 degrees, enabling it to capture colour information from televisions as large as 85 inches using a single camera.
Lepro Lens Correction technology then minimizes fisheye distortion and maps screen colour zones more accurately before translating them into synchronized ambient lighting effects.
In addition to visual performance, Lepro said STV1 was developed with installation convenience in mind through a 2-in-1 integrated camera and controller design.
The integrated structure reduces cable clutter and simplifies setup and calibration for users across different television configurations.
The ultra-wide camera lens also provides more flexible positioning options without requiring extremely precise alignment.
For music-based entertainment, STV1 includes LightBeats Music Sync technology that uses a proprietary audio algorithm to create smoother rhythm-based lighting effects synchronized with sound playback.
Unlike conventional music lighting systems that rely heavily on aggressive flashing, the technology is designed to produce softer wave-like lighting movements for a more comfortable viewing environment.
STV1 also features automatic blank-screen detection, allowing the lighting system to switch off automatically whenever the television display becomes dark or inactive.
According to the company, the feature helps reduce unnecessary energy consumption while improving convenience for everyday use.
The launch of STV1 marks another step by Lepro to strengthen its position in the growing AI-powered smart lighting market as demand for immersive home entertainment technology continues to rise globally.
