KL Police Record Actor’s Statement Over Alleged Childhood Sexual Abuse Case from 2005

KUALA LUMPUR: Kuala Lumpur police have recorded the statement of a 35-year-old male actor following his claim that he was sexually abused during his childhood in an incident believed to have occurred in 2005.

According to local media reports, the actor met with police officers on Sunday, one day after lodging an official report regarding the alleged incident. Authorities have since begun a detailed investigation to establish the facts surrounding the case.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Fadil Marsus said the case is being investigated under Section 377C of the Penal Code, which deals with non-consensual sexual acts.

He confirmed that no arrests have been made so far, as investigations are still at an early stage.

“We are conducting a thorough and professional investigation in accordance with the law. All relevant evidence and statements will be carefully examined,” he said.

He added that the Royal Malaysia Police takes all allegations of abuse seriously, especially those involving incidents that occurred during childhood.

Allegations Shared on Social Media

Prior to filing the police report, the actor had shared his experience on social media, alleging that the abuse involved an older individual who had authority and a familial connection.

His disclosure quickly gained public attention and sparked widespread discussion about sexual abuse, victim protection, and the importance of reporting such cases.

In his posts, the actor said he decided to come forward not for publicity, but to raise awareness and encourage other victims to speak up.

He expressed hope that his actions would help prevent similar incidents and provide support to those who may still be suffering in silence.

Investigation Process and Victim Support

Police officials explained that cases involving incidents from many years ago require careful and detailed investigation, as evidence may be limited and witnesses difficult to locate.

Investigators are expected to review available records, identify potential witnesses, and cooperate with relevant agencies to strengthen the case.

Legal experts noted that while such cases are complex, they remain important in ensuring accountability and justice for victims.

They also emphasised the need for psychological and emotional support services for survivors, particularly in cases involving long-term trauma.

Renewed Focus on Abuse Awareness

The case has renewed public attention on issues related to sexual abuse, especially those occurring within families or involving individuals in positions of trust.

Non-governmental organisations and social advocates have called for greater awareness, early intervention, and stronger supportut protection mechanisms for vulnerable individuals.

Authorities have reminded the public to avoid speculation and the spread of unverified information that could interfere with investigations.

Overall, police have reaffirmed their commitment to handling the case fairly, transparently, and professionally, while safeguarding the rights and dignity of all parties involved.
