Fuziah Denies Viral Poster Was Produced Using Official PKR Media Material
PETALING JAYA: Parti Keadilan Rakyat secretary-general Fuziah Salleh has denied any involvement by her office in the production and circulation of a viral poster on social media that appeared to resemble official party material.
In a Facebook post today, she clarified that the poster was neither issued, designed nor approved by the PKR secretary-general’s office despite using templates and media elements similar to official party materials.
According to Fuziah, the contents of the poster also do not represent her official position or that of her office.
“I view the unauthorised use of media materials and identities seriously because it can mislead the public and create misunderstandings,” she said.
She also reminded the public to remain cautious of unauthorised materials circulating online that imitate official party branding or communication platforms.
Fuziah Salleh advised the public to obtain verified information only through her official social media accounts and the official communication channels of the PKR secretary-general’s office.
The statement was issued following the circulation of a viral poster believed to have used media identities resembling official party materials, which subsequently caused confusion among social media users.
Issues involving the misuse of media identities without permission have increasingly attracted attention amid the growing spread of digitally manipulated content across online platforms.
Political observers believe the use of branding resembling official political party material could influence public perception if not addressed promptly by the relevant parties.
The development also reflects ongoing challenges in ensuring the authenticity of information on social media as Malaysia’s political landscape continues to attract widespread public attention.
