Disney+ Unveils AI-Powered Korean Mystery Game Show Murder Club: Liar’s Table Featuring Faker, Beomgyu and Star-Studded Cast

KUALA LUMPUR: Disney+ is expanding its Korean entertainment lineup with the launch of Murder Club: Liar’s Table, a new AI-powered murder mystery game show set to premiere exclusively on the streaming platform on July 29.

Blending psychological strategy, deduction and immersive storytelling, the series brings together celebrities from the worlds of gaming, music, sports, comedy and digital content creation as they attempt to identify a hidden murderer while avoiding deception from fellow contestants.

Unlike conventional reality competition programmes, Murder Club: Liar’s Table incorporates artificial intelligence-generated visual sequences that recreate each fictional murder case, allowing participants to investigate evolving scenarios across multiple settings before deciding who among them is responsible.

Each episode places contestants inside carefully designed environments ranging from Korea’s Joseon Dynasty to a modern baseball stadium and even a prison, where they must analyse limited clues, evaluate each other’s behaviour and separate truth from deception.

While innocent participants work together to uncover the killer’s identity, the designated culprit must manipulate conversations, mislead fellow players and avoid detection until the final reveal, creating an atmosphere of constant psychological tension.

The programme is jointly produced by KJH Studio and Skaper AI, highlighting the growing use of artificial intelligence in entertainment production to enhance storytelling and interactive viewing experiences.

The celebrity cast features several well-known personalities from across South Korea’s entertainment and sporting industries.

Among those appearing are globally renowned professional esports player Faker, travel YouTuber Pani Bottle, veteran comedian Choi Yangrak, comedian Eom Jiyoon, actor Shin Sungrok, viral content creator Kim Seontae, TVXQ! member Max Changmin, professional baseball player Kim Hyunsoo, TOMORROW X TOGETHER member Beomgyu and Culinary Class Wars chef Park Juseong.

The diverse lineup is expected to create unpredictable alliances and rivalries as contestants employ different strategies to survive the game and expose the hidden culprit.

Disney+ said the new programme forms part of its continued investment in Korean and Asia-Pacific original productions, reflecting increasing global demand for Korean variety shows and unscripted entertainment.

The platform has steadily expanded its regional catalogue with a mix of reality competitions, survival programmes and original scripted series aimed at audiences across Asia and international markets.

In addition to Murder Club: Liar’s Table, subscribers can also access other Korean reality titles available on Disney+, including Battle of Fates, I Am Boxer and The Zone: Survival Mission, alongside a growing selection of Asia-Pacific original productions.

With its combination of AI-generated storytelling, celebrity contestants and strategic gameplay, Murder Club: Liar’s Table aims to offer viewers a fresh take on the murder mystery genre while showcasing how emerging technologies are beginning to influence the future of unscripted television entertainment.
