Ampace Unveils UniC AG440 and PR-S3 Elite Energy Storage Systems at Intersolar Europe 2026

MUNICH: Global lithium-ion battery manufacturer Ampace has expanded its energy storage portfolio with the introduction of two new solutions at Intersolar Europe 2026, unveiling the UniC AG440 commercial and industrial (C&I) energy storage system alongside the PR-S3 Elite residential battery system.

The launch forms part of the company’s “Meet All, Green More” strategy, which highlights its growing portfolio of energy storage technologies spanning commercial and industrial applications, residential systems and AI data centre infrastructure.

Ampace Chief Technology Officer Dr Qingfeng Yuan said the accelerating global transition towards clean energy requires storage technologies capable of delivering high performance, operational safety and long-term reliability across increasingly demanding environments.

He said the company’s latest products were designed to support businesses and homeowners seeking more resilient, efficient and sustainable energy systems while accelerating the adoption of renewable energy worldwide.

According to Yuan, the “Meet All, Green More” initiative reflects Ampace’s commitment to supporting partners across multiple industries by providing flexible energy storage solutions tailored to a wide range of applications.

Developed jointly with CATL, the UniC AG440 combines CATL’s advanced lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cell technology with Ampace’s expertise in distributed energy systems.

Each system node can support up to 45 units, delivering a total storage capacity of approximately 20 megawatt-hours (MWh). Compared with conventional 200kWh-class systems, the UniC AG440 provides 50 per cent higher energy density while reducing installation space requirements by half.

The system has obtained several internationally recognised safety certifications, including UL9540A, IEC62619, IEC62477 and ISO13849 PLd, and is engineered to operate reliably in temperatures as low as -25°C without requiring auxiliary heating.

CATL Energy Storage System Division Chief Technology Officer Xu Jinmei described the UniC AG440 as a milestone in the collaboration between the two companies, combining CATL’s battery innovation with Ampace’s application expertise to create a purpose-built solution for Europe’s commercial and industrial market.

He said the partnership would continue supporting renewable energy integration while helping businesses achieve their sustainability objectives through reliable and efficient storage technology.

For residential users, Ampace introduced the PR-S3 Elite, a home energy storage solution developed to meet Europe’s demand for long-life battery performance and dependable operation in cold climates.

The system incorporates the company’s proprietary FrostCore Technology, enabling normal charging and discharging performance even at temperatures as low as -20°C by overcoming the low-temperature limitations typically associated with lithium-ion batteries.

Designed for durability, the PR-S3 Elite delivers up to 15,000 charge-discharge cycles while maintaining zero capacity degradation during its first three years of operation, reducing total ownership costs and improving long-term system reliability.

Beyond product innovation, Ampace also highlighted its sustainability achievements, announcing that it has attained operational carbon neutrality under the ISO14068-1:2023 standard following independent verification by TÜV SÜD.

The company said its manufacturing facilities now operate entirely on zero-carbon electricity generated through large-scale solar power and supported by integrated energy storage infrastructure.

Ampace has also received the EcoVadis Silver Medal, placing it among the world’s top 10 per cent of organisations for sustainability performance, while recently joining the United Nations Global Compact to reinforce its long-term commitment to responsible business practices, climate action and sustainable growth.
