
Six Charged Over RM4.4m Armed Robberies, Case Raises Concerns Over Police Integrity
KUALA LUMPUR, April 16 – A high-profile robbery case involving a senior police officer has drawn attention after six men were charged in connection with a series of armed home robberies in Kepong.
Among those charged is Ahmad Ruzaini Ahmad Dahalan, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, who pleaded not guilty along with five others before multiple Sessions Courts.
Law Enforcement Officer Implicated
The involvement of a police officer has intensified scrutiny over internal accountability within enforcement agencies.
The officer, previously attached to the Commercial Crime Investigation Department at Bukit Aman, has been suspended since January.
Serious Armed Robbery Charges
The accused are alleged to have committed gang robbery while brandishing a firearm, instilling fear in victims.
Such offences carry severe penalties under Malaysian law.

Charges were framed under laws governing firearms and gang robbery, which impose lengthy prison terms and corporal punishment upon conviction.
Incident in Upscale Residential Area
The alleged crimes took place in a high-end residential area in Kepong during the early hours of April 5.

In addition to the main charges, the remaining accused face several related counts tied to the same incident.
No Bail Granted
All six were denied bail due to the non-bailable nature of the offences.
Millions in Losses Reported
Authorities estimate losses at around RM4.4 million, including luxury vehicles, cash and valuables.
Organised Crime Suspected
Investigators believe the case involves a coordinated criminal syndicate targeting affluent homes.
Next Court Date Set
The case has been scheduled for mention on May 25.
