Nearly 1,900 Rahmah Madani Sales Planned Nationwide During Ramadan to Ease Cost of Living — Armizan Mohd Ali

KUALA LUMPUR — A total of 1,898 Rahmah Madani Sales Programme sessions will be held nationwide throughout Ramadan to help Malaysians purchase essential goods at more affordable prices.

Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said the programme aims to ensure consumers can obtain essential items, including fresh ingredients and dry goods needed for breaking fast and preparing for Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

He said the initiative is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to assist Malaysians in managing rising living costs, especially during festive periods.

According to him, household spending typically increases during Ramadan, making programmes like Rahmah Madani Sales an important option for consumers seeking lower-priced goods.

He added that the initiative also supports those who require financial assistance.

Armizan expressed appreciation to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the Finance Ministry for approving special allocations to support the programme.

He said the allocation ensures the programme can continue as part of the government’s long-term cost-of-living initiatives.

He also conducted a visit to a supermarket in Pandan Indah, Selangor, to observe the programme’s implementation.

He said the visit was to ensure the programme is properly carried out and benefits consumers.

During the visit, he was informed that cooking oil supply had increased following the implementation of the stabilisation system.

The supermarket management said supply had risen significantly, including 20,400 packets received in January.

This reflects government efforts to ensure adequate supply of essential goods.

The Rahmah Madani Sales Programme is expected to help Malaysians obtain essential goods at lower prices throughout Ramadan.

The initiative is also expected to assist consumers in preparing for Hari Raya Aidilfitri more effectively.
