Pakatan Harapan Steps Up Preparations for Melaka, Johor and Sarawak State Polls

ALOR SETAR: Pakatan Harapan (PH) is moving into the final stage of formulating its strategy for the upcoming state elections in Melaka, Johor and Sarawak.

PH secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the coalition’s Secretariat Council, which met last week, had instructed its election committee to begin early preparations.

These include developing campaign strategies, strengthening party machinery, and assessing the political landscape in the respective states.

Unity Government Model Under Review

Saifuddin said one key issue under consideration is whether the current Unity Government cooperation between PH and Barisan Nasional will be replicated at the state level.

“The suitability of the existing cooperation model is being carefully evaluated,” he told reporters.

Strategic Paper Nearing Completion

He added that all proposals and approaches will be compiled into a comprehensive strategic paper currently being prepared by PH’s election committee.

The document is expected to be finalised within the next one to two months before being submitted to the coalition’s top leadership.

“This paper will guide our campaign strategy, coordination efforts and electoral direction,” he said.

Emphasis on Early Readiness

Saifuddin stressed that early planning is crucial to ensure PH remains competitive and well-prepared for future political challenges.

Earlier, he also visited the Kedah Regional Development Authority (KEDA) Business Facilities Centre project site in his capacity as co-chairman of the Kedah State Development Action Council.
