Hikvision Becomes First CCTV Manufacturer to Achieve EUCC Certification for Network Cameras
HANGZHOU: Hikvision has achieved a new milestone in cybersecurity compliance after its DeepinView iDS-2CD7x network camera series became the first CCTV camera product to obtain certification under the European Cybersecurity Scheme on Common Criteria (EUCC), strengthening its position in the global security technology market.
The certification recognises the company’s compliance with one of Europe’s newest cybersecurity assurance frameworks and reflects growing emphasis on secure digital products across industries handling critical infrastructure and sensitive information.
According to Hikvision, the EUCC certification was issued by TrustCB B.V., an independent certification body authorised by the Dutch Authority for Digital Infrastructure (RDI), following an extensive evaluation conducted by Bureau Veritas Cybersecurity Europe.
The assessment was carried out in accordance with internationally recognised ISO/IEC 15408 Common Criteria standards and CEM:2022 R1 requirements. Hikvision’s DeepinView iDS-2CD7x series achieved the EUCC “Substantial” assurance level, corresponding to Evaluation Assurance Level 3 (EAL3) with additional flaw remediation requirements.
The company said the certification validates multiple aspects of its cybersecurity architecture, including identity authentication, access management, secure communications, security auditing capabilities and vulnerability management processes incorporated into the camera platform.
Hikvision noted that cybersecurity has become an increasingly important consideration as governments and organisations continue strengthening digital security regulations. Within Europe, initiatives such as the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and the NIS2 Directive have introduced stricter requirements for connected products and organisations operating critical infrastructure.
Against this regulatory backdrop, the EUCC framework provides manufacturers with an independent mechanism to demonstrate compliance with recognised cybersecurity standards while offering customers additional assurance regarding product security.
The company said the certification reflects its long-term “Security-by-Design” development philosophy, under which cybersecurity considerations are integrated throughout every stage of the product lifecycle, from initial concept and product development to testing, deployment and ongoing maintenance.
By embedding security controls during the design phase rather than adding them after deployment, Hikvision aims to improve product resilience against emerging cyber threats while supporting long-term software maintenance and vulnerability management.
The newly certified DeepinView network camera series is intended for applications requiring elevated cybersecurity standards, including government facilities, transportation systems, energy infrastructure and other environments where secure video surveillance forms part of critical operations.
Hikvision believes the certification establishes a new benchmark for cybersecurity assurance within the CCTV industry while supporting organisations seeking surveillance solutions that comply with evolving European regulatory requirements.
As cybersecurity standards continue to evolve globally, the company said it will continue strengthening product security and governance practices to support customers operating increasingly connected digital infrastructure while maintaining confidence in the security of its surveillance technologies
