Erra Fazira Open to Reuniting With Hans Isaac After ‘Gerak Khas 2.0’ Collaboration
KUALA LUMPUR, July 1 — Actress and singer Erra Fazira says she would gladly reunite with Datuk Hans Isaac for future acting projects after the pair recently returned to the screen together in the upcoming police drama Gerak Khas 2.0.
Erra, whose full name is Fazira Wan Chek, said she was pleasantly surprised when she learned that Hans had accepted the offer to join the revival of the long-running television series, especially given his demanding schedule.
“I was genuinely surprised when I heard Hans had been approached for this project. I even wondered whether he would be able to accept because I know he has a very busy schedule,” she told reporters during the Gerak Khas 2.0 press conference in Kuala Lumpur.
She said Hans’ decision to take part in the production was a positive development that would add value to the series.
“When I found out that he was willing to take on the project, I thought it was great news for the drama,” she said.
Despite not sharing the screen for many years, Erra said working alongside Hans again felt natural, with both actors maintaining a professional approach throughout filming.
“We’re both very professional, so there were no issues at all. If anyone wants to pair Erra and Hans together again after this, I’m perfectly fine with it. If Hans is okay, then I’m okay too,” she said.
Erra clarified that although they share scenes in Gerak Khas 2.0, audiences should not expect a romantic storyline between their characters.
“We do have scenes together, but they’re not romantic scenes. Our characters work together,” she explained.
The two actors previously appeared together in the 1997 romantic thriller Gemilang, making their reunion in Gerak Khas 2.0 one of the highlights of the new production.
Produced by Sarawak Media Group (SMG) in collaboration with Skop Productions and directed by Datuk Dr Yusof Haslam, Gerak Khas 2.0 will premiere on July 3 and air every Friday at 8.30pm exclusively on TVS.
The revived series follows the success of the original Gerak Khas, which ran for 20 seasons and produced 1,054 episodes. The new instalment introduces contemporary storylines centred on modern crime, cyber attacks and high-tech criminal syndicates, while also featuring Sarawak as one of its primary filming and narrative locations.
