Firstup AI Search Wins 2026 AI Breakthrough Award as Top Enterprise AI Search Platform

SAN FRANCISCO: Firstup AI Search has been named “Overall AI Search Platform of the Year” at the 2026 AI Breakthrough Awards, highlighting the company’s growing influence in the enterprise artificial intelligence market.

The recognition was announced during the ninth edition of the AI Breakthrough Awards, an international programme that honours leading innovations, products and organisations driving advances in artificial intelligence across multiple industries.

According to Firstup, the award recognises the platform’s ability to help employees locate trusted workplace information through natural language conversations without switching between multiple enterprise applications.

AI Search forms part of the broader Firstup AI portfolio, which also includes AI Content Creator, AI Audience Builder, AI Insights and AI Actions to enhance workforce communication and employee engagement.

All AI capabilities operate using verified organisational content while respecting existing enterprise security controls and user permission settings.

The search platform enables employees to ask questions conversationally while simultaneously retrieving information from Firstup and enterprise systems such as Workday, ServiceNow, SharePoint and ADP.

Responses are automatically personalised according to an employee’s role, location and access privileges, while maintaining conversational context for follow-up questions.

Firstup Chief Executive Officer Bill Schuh said workplace AI should benefit every employee regardless of job function, particularly frontline workers who often have limited access to advanced digital tools.

He noted that internal research found employees spend several hours each week searching for workplace information, while 64 per cent of frontline workers currently lack employer-provided AI capabilities.

Schuh said Firstup AI Search addresses this gap by delivering reliable, company-approved answers within seconds, allowing employees to remain productive without navigating multiple systems.

The platform is built on Firstup’s employee communications infrastructure, which serves more than 17 million workers globally, enabling it to understand each user’s organisational role, workplace location, permissions and information requirements.

AI Breakthrough Managing Director Steve Johansson said the platform stands out because it simultaneously searches multiple enterprise systems while ensuring every response complies with the user’s access permissions.

He added that this capability enables organisations to extend enterprise AI beyond office-based staff and make advanced search technology available to frontline and hourly employees.

This year’s AI Breakthrough Awards attracted thousands of nominations from more than 20 countries across categories including generative AI, agentic AI, robotics, computer vision, natural language processing and industry-specific AI applications, reflecting continued global momentum in artificial intelligence innovation.
