Dreame Showcases Rocket-Assisted EV with Sub-Second Acceleration at DREAME NEXT Event

SAN FRANCISCO, April 29 — Dreame Technology has revealed a high-performance electric vehicle concept featuring rocket-assisted propulsion, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 0.9 seconds.

The Nebula NEXT 01 JET Edition was unveiled during the Drive Next segment of the company’s DREAME NEXT showcase, highlighting Dreame’s push into advanced mobility and intelligent vehicle systems.

The prototype is equipped with a dual solid-fuel rocket booster system that activates within 150 milliseconds and delivers peak thrust of up to 100 kilonewtons. This setup enables extreme acceleration levels rarely seen in automotive development.

Among those present at the launch was Sebastian Thrun, who described the reveal as one of the most remarkable product announcements he had witnessed.

In parallel with the vehicle, Dreame introduced the DHX1 LiDAR unit, developed under its Nebula NEXT initiative. The system is designed to advance perception capabilities beyond traditional point-cloud sensing, offering image-level resolution that can detect fine details such as road imperfections, small debris and subtle human movement.

The vehicle also integrates Dreame’s latest autonomous driving platform, based on a third-generation VLA and World Model framework. This includes an L2++ system capable of navigating complex urban environments from start to finish, as well as an L3+ configuration aimed at enabling fully autonomous driving under suitable conditions.

Energy efficiency and structural optimisation are supported by the use of CTP 4.0 battery technology, which removes conventional internal supports within the battery pack to improve space utilisation and overall performance.

Dreame said its entry into the smart vehicle sector is the result of more than a decade of research, tracing back to early work conducted under the SkyAxis programme at Tsinghua University by founder Yu Hao.

The Nebula NEXT programme reflects the company’s effort to translate its expertise in high-speed motors, artificial intelligence and robotics into automotive applications.

Dreame noted that its digital motor technology, capable of reaching speeds of up to 200,000 revolutions per minute, underpins both its consumer products and its automotive engineering developments.

The DREAME NEXT event, running until April 30, serves as a platform for the company to present its broader vision of integrating advanced engineering systems into next-generation transportation.

While still in the prototype stage, the Nebula NEXT 01 JET Edition signals Dreame’s ambition to compete in the high-performance and autonomous vehicle space, combining speed, sensing and intelligent systems into a single platform.
