2026 Proton S70 MC Debuts with New 4-Cylinder i-GT Engine, Priced from RM68,800
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 12 — Proton has unveiled the 2026 S70 MC, introducing a major mechanical upgrade with a new four-cylinder turbocharged engine alongside improved connectivity and performance enhancements.
The refreshed C-segment sedan starts from RM68,800 on-the-road without insurance, inclusive of a RM5,000 launch rebate for the first 2,000 customers who register by March 31, 2026. Without the rebate, pricing remains consistent with the model’s original 2023 launch.
Four Variants and Attractive Launch Incentives
The S70 MC is available in Executive, Premium, Flagship and Flagship X trims, topping out at RM89,800 for the range-topping variant.
Customers can also enjoy up to RM4,000 rebate under the national cash-for-clunkers programme for vehicles aged 20 years and above. Financing packages start from 2.25 per cent per annum with repayment tenures of up to nine years.
Additional benefits under the Proton Insurance Programme include Special Perils coverage, flood assistance up to RM2,000 and passenger personal accident coverage of up to RM15,000 per occupant.
Stronger Performance with New i-GT Engine
The headline upgrade is the new 1.5-litre i-GT turbocharged four-cylinder engine replacing the previous three-cylinder unit.
Producing 179hp and 290Nm of torque, the new powertrain delivers sharper acceleration and stronger mid-range pull. Mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, the sedan achieves 0–100km/h in 7.5 seconds, positioning it competitively within its segment.
All variants receive the new engine, while higher trims gain Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and redesigned 17-inch alloy wheels. The Flagship X further benefits from a revised aerokit for a sportier exterior stance.
Connectivity and Ownership Package
The model is offered in six exterior colours and includes a five-year in-car data plan with 2GB monthly quota. Buyers also receive a five-year unlimited mileage warranty and six complimentary labour services.
