Yayasan Pahang’s myTahfiz Innovation Secures Major Win at MTEA 2026

KUANTAN — Yayasan Pahang has strengthened its reputation as a forward-looking educational institution after its digital innovation, the myTahfiz system, earned top recognition at the Malaysia Technology Excellence Awards (MTEA) 2026.

The organisation was named winner in the Government Organisation Data Management category, with its Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Mahmud Mohd. Nawawi, accepting the award at a ceremony held in Kuala Lumpur. The achievement highlights the growing role of digital technology in transforming early childhood Islamic education.

The awards event, organised by Asian Business Review, gathered a diverse mix of high-profile participants from both public agencies and major corporations. Against this competitive backdrop, Yayasan Pahang’s success demonstrates how impactful educational innovations can stand alongside large-scale technological advancements.

At the heart of this recognition is myTahfiz, a digital system designed to modernise the way Quranic memorisation is tracked and assessed among preschool students. The platform allows teachers to document student progress systematically, ensuring that evaluations are consistent, accurate, and easily accessible.

By replacing conventional manual processes, the system enhances efficiency and enables real-time monitoring of student performance. Educators are able to track development more effectively, while administrators gain a comprehensive overview of outcomes across different locations.

The initiative was developed through collaboration with the Early Childhood Education Division of the Department of Community Development (Kemas). In addition to deploying the digital platform, Yayasan Pahang introduced structured memorisation modules developed by Tadika Tahfiz Negeri Pahang and provided training programmes to equip teachers with the necessary skills.

First introduced as a pilot programme in 2024, myTahfiz was expanded nationwide in 2025. Today, it serves approximately 140,000 students in Tabika Kemas centres across Malaysia, reflecting both its scalability and effectiveness.

This large-scale adoption underscores the system’s ability to standardise evaluation methods, improve data management, and enhance programme monitoring. It also supports evidence-based decision-making, enabling stakeholders to refine educational strategies using accurate data insights.

The MTEA 2026 recognition further reinforces Yayasan Pahang’s commitment to innovation and digital transformation. It positions the organisation as a key contributor to the evolution of education technology in Malaysia and opens the door for future collaborations.

Ultimately, the success of myTahfiz illustrates how technology can elevate the quality and consistency of preschool Quranic education. It reflects a broader vision of empowering future generations through modern, data-driven approaches that deliver meaningful educational outcomes.
