Tourism Malaysia Welcomes Seasonal Direct Flights Between Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur

New Route Expected to Boost Tourism and Economic Links

KUALA LUMPUR: Tourism Malaysia has welcomed the introduction of a seasonal direct service by Greater Bay Airlines connecting Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur during the Lunar New Year travel season.

The inaugural flight arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2 (KLIA2) and was received by representatives from Tourism Malaysia, Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad, and the airline.

The new service is expected to strengthen tourism flows and economic ties between the two cities.

Additional Flights Meet Festive Travel Demand

The seasonal route has been introduced to accommodate increased travel demand during the festive period, including tourists, visiting relatives, and business travellers.

The added flight capacity is expected to boost visitor arrivals and support tourism-related sectors.

Enhances Malaysia’s Appeal to Hong Kong Travellers

Tourism Malaysia Director General Mohd Amirul Rizal Abdul Rahim said the new flights are anticipated to support the growth of Malaysia’s tourism sector.

He noted that improved air connectivity provides greater convenience and helps attract more visitors from Hong Kong.

He added that Hong Kong continues to be one of Malaysia’s key tourism source markets.

Part of Strategy to Expand Global Connectivity

The new route forms part of Tourism Malaysia’s broader strategy to expand international connectivity and position Malaysia as a preferred travel destination.

Kuala Lumpur remains popular among travellers due to its cultural diversity, modern attractions, and vibrant city experience.
