No Signs of Abuse in Trooper Indiran’s Death

Defence Minister Calls for Calm and Ongoing Investigation

JOHOR BAHRU, Feb. 21, 2026 – Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said preliminary postmortem findings have not revealed any evidence of abuse or bullying in the death of Trooper K. Indiran.

He said the forensic examination did not indicate injuries linked to violence.

However, he stressed that investigations are still ongoing to determine the exact cause of death.

Public urged to avoid speculation

Mohamed Khaled called on the public to refrain from speculation or politicising the case.

He emphasized the importance of allowing authorities to conduct a thorough and independent investigation.

He warned that unfounded claims could disrupt the investigation process.

Special committee may be considered

The minister said the possibility of forming a special committee has not been ruled out.

He explained that such a step could help ensure transparency and accountability.

Earlier, some parties had called for a more detailed probe into the incident.

Soldier collapsed during military training

Trooper Indiran was undergoing training at Kem Batu 10 in Kuantan when he was found unconscious.

He was taken to Hospital Tengku Ampuan Afzan for treatment.

He died the following day.

Final burial to take place in Penang

Indiran was the son of a Royal Malaysian Air Force pilot who died in a crash in 2016.

He is expected to be buried next to his father.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the case.
