Malaysia link surfaces in TCS scandal as probe expands into possible cross-border network

NASHIK, India, April 19 – Investigations into allegations of sexual harassment and forced religious conversion at Tata Consultancy Services have uncovered a possible link to an individual believed to be based in Malaysia.

The individual, identified as “Imran”, is described as a preacher who allegedly communicated with victims through digital platforms, including messaging apps and video calls.

Allegations point to organised network

Authorities believe the incidents at a TCS facility in Nashik, Maharashtra, may be part of a structured network operating over several years rather than isolated cases.

Digital evidence under review

Investigators are analysing encrypted chats and other digital communications that reportedly connect the suspect to the broader operation.

Undercover operation triggered probe

The case came to light following a covert investigation in which female officers posed as cleaning staff to gather evidence on-site.

Multiple serious complaints filed

So far, nine official complaints have been lodged by eight women and one man, involving allegations of sexual harassment, rape under false promises of marriage, and coercion to convert religion.

Victims allegedly targeted through career incentives

Authorities said victims may have been approached using promises of promotions and overseas job opportunities.

Arrests made as probe continues

Six suspects, including team leaders, have been arrested, while further investigations are ongoing.

Company enforces internal action

Tata Consultancy Services said it maintains a zero-tolerance policy and has suspended employees linked to the case.

Cross-border angle under scrutiny

Investigators are now working to confirm the identity and role of the Malaysia-based individual and determine whether the case is part of a wider international network.
