Keeper Security Earns GovRAMP High Authorization, Expands Cyber Protection for Public Sector Systems

CHICAGO, Feb 11 — Keeper Security has secured GovRAMP High Authorization for its Keeper Security Government Cloud (KSGC), enabling State, Local and Educational (SLED) organizations to deploy the platform in high-impact environments requiring stringent security controls.

The GovRAMP High designation confirms that KSGC meets comprehensive security benchmarks aligned with NIST Special Publication 800-53 Revision 5. The authorization allows public sector entities to protect non-classified systems and sensitive data where breaches could result in severe operational disruption, financial loss or erosion of public trust.

The milestone strengthens Keeper’s existing portfolio of independent security validations, including FedRAMP High Authorization, FIPS 140-3 certification, SOC 2 Type II and SOC 3 attestations, as well as ISO 27001, 27017 and 27018 compliance.

Escalating Cyber Threats in the SLED Environment

SLED organizations continue to face mounting cyber risks driven by credential abuse, privilege escalation and ransomware. At the same time, they must modernize infrastructure, enable hybrid work models and adopt cloud services, often with limited personnel and constrained budgets.

Recent studies indicate that 41 percent of educational institutions have experienced AI-related cyber threats, highlighting the need for platforms capable of limiting standing access and delivering real-time visibility into privileged activity.

Zoya Schaller, Keeper’s Director of Cybersecurity Compliance, said GovRAMP High Authorization demonstrates that KSGC is engineered for environments where security failures are unacceptable.

“It provides public sector security leaders with assurance that they can enforce least-privilege access, reduce credential risk and satisfy strict compliance requirements without disrupting mission-critical operations,” she said.

Zero-Trust Architecture for High-Impact Systems

GovRAMP aligns with the NIST 800-53 control framework used by FedRAMP, streamlining procurement processes and reducing duplicative security assessments for SLED entities. Keeper has maintained GovRAMP authorization since 2022 and continues to meet evolving compliance requirements.

KSGC operates as a cloud-native Privileged Access Management platform built on zero-trust principles and a zero-knowledge security model. All credentials and sensitive data remain fully encrypted and accessible only to customers, supporting strict separation of duties and audit integrity.

The platform enables organizations to enforce least-privilege access across on-premises, cloud and hybrid environments, eliminate standing administrative credentials, secure third-party access without exposing secrets, and monitor privileged sessions to strengthen compliance and incident response.

With GovRAMP High Authorization in place, Keeper Security reinforces its position as a trusted cybersecurity partner for public sector agencies navigating increasingly complex threat landscapes.
