Didie Alias Fulfils Promise to Care for Andre Mikhail
Stays by Amyza Aznan’s Side Until the End
HULU KELANG, Feb 24 — Actress and television host Didie Alias expressed deep sadness over the passing of Andre Mikhail but said she was grateful she had the chance to fulfil her promise to care for him before his death.
Andre was the son of Didie’s close friend, actress Amyza Aznan, and had been battling lung cancer for about a year.
Didie said she remained in contact with Amyza throughout Andre’s hospitalization, offering emotional support even when she was away from Kuala Lumpur.
She said Amyza was deeply affected emotionally as her son’s condition worsened.
“I was constantly in touch with her. I knew she was going through a very difficult time,” she said.
When Didie returned to Kuala Lumpur, she immediately went to the hospital to be with Amyza.
She said she wanted to make sure her friend did not face the situation alone.
“I went there to support her and give her strength,” she said.
Didie described Amyza as a strong mother who had endured many challenges.
She said Amyza was also caring for another child diagnosed with bone cancer and a husband suffering from kidney disease.
Andre passed away at 10.15pm at Hospital Kuala Lumpur.
His funeral prayers were held at Masjid Al Khairiah AU3 before his burial.
Didie also shared the moments before Andre’s passing.
She said Amyza had briefly returned home to rest after spending two days at the hospital.
Didie remained with Andre during that time.
She said Andre’s condition became critical before he passed away.
Didie said she believed Andre loved his mother deeply.
She said he may not have wanted his mother to witness his final moments.
Didie said she would always remember Andre.
She added that she would continue supporting Amyza.
She said the loss was deeply painful.
But she hopes Amyza will remain strong.
She said friendship is important during difficult times.
