Aminuddin to Continue as Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Amid Political Uncertainty
SEREMBAN, April 27 — Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun will remain in office and continue carrying out his duties despite a move by 14 Barisan Nasional (BN) assemblymen to withdraw their support.
Aminuddin said he had sought an audience with Tuanku Muhriz ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir following the political development, and was advised to proceed with governing responsibilities until the situation becomes clearer.
He stressed that the state administration would continue functioning as usual in accordance with legal provisions and the Negeri Sembilan State Constitution, ensuring stability in governance.
“The state government will continue to operate as normal, and I will ensure that administrative matters proceed smoothly while prioritising the welfare of the people,” he told reporters at a press conference held at the official Menteri Besar residence.
The briefing was attended by 16 Pakatan Harapan (PH) assemblymen, including Anthony Loke Siew Fook, who is the Chennah assemblyman, signalling continued backing from the coalition.
Also present was Negeri Sembilan State Assembly Speaker MK Ibrahim Abd Rahman, who is also the state chairman of Parti Amanah Negara.
The latest development has added a layer of uncertainty to the state’s political landscape, although the Menteri Besar’s assurance suggests continuity in governance for the time being.
