Ahead of mega concert, Ella focuses on vocals, health and rest
PETALING JAYA: After the excitement of Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza Taruddin’s Biduanita Negara concert earlier this month, the focus of entertainment fans has now shifted to another mega performance by “Ratu Rock Negara” Ella who will be warming up the stage on Feb 14.
Ella’s return to the same iconic venue, the Bukit Jalil National Stadium, after a long absence from performing on the big stage, sparked heated discussions among fans, to the point where some began comparing Rockqueen Ella’s upcoming Supreme Council concert to other big performances that have taken place at the stadium.
However, for the owner of the name Nor Zila Aminuddin, the comparison does not put much pressure on her, instead she believes that her main challenge is to ensure that the mega concert succeeds in creating another historic moment in her more than four-decade artistic career.
Not just an ordinary concert, the Rockqueen Ella Supreme Council will take the audience through the artistic journey of this country’s rock queen, as well as being a special tribute to her loyal fans who have continued to support her since the beginning of her involvement in the music industry.
“My only pressure is to make sure I’m really prepared. The pressure is to complete the mission and make this concert the history we want to create,” he told reporters at a media luncheon here recently.
Sharing her preparations ahead of her mega concert, the wife of Captain Azhar Ghazali said that apart from undergoing vocal training, special attention was also paid to health care including nutrition, exercise and getting enough rest.
“I watch my diet, cut down on sugar, exercise and most importantly get enough sleep. If possible, I have to go to bed before 10 or 11 pm,” said the singer who is famous for the songs Retak and Sepi Sekuntum Mawar Merah.
In terms of the performance, Ella said that all planning was done in detail with an experienced production team, making her feel more relaxed even though the scale of the performance was much larger than previous concerts.
Working closely with the organisers, Hitman Group, including sharing ideas to ensure it runs smoothly, the legendary singer said that special attention was paid to the sound quality at the large-scale location, as well as the visuals to ensure the audience experience in all corners of the stadium was at the best level.
“I’m not worried because I have a very good team. We are also very sensitive to the issue of sound and acoustics of the venue. The technical team has taken all of those things into account.
“We will also be assisted by the use of large LEDs so that viewers who are far away can still enjoy the performance,” he said.
Meanwhile, CEO and Founder of Hitman Group, Rohit Rampal, announced that approximately 90 percent of the concert tickets have been sold so far, involving more than 50,000 tickets, and he is optimistic that the remaining tickets will be sold out before the concert day.
At the same event, several guest singers were also announced, including Amir Masdi, Sam Bunkface and Tam Spider, while two other names were still being kept secret as a surprise for the audience.
Interestingly, this concert is not just about entertainment. Each ticket purchase also gives the audience the opportunity to choose a donation fund of their choice, either Peace for the Malaysian Gaza Love Association, Love for the National Welfare Foundation or Rindu for the Malaysian Artists Welfare Foundation.
