Agong Donates 100 Cattle for Aidiladha Sacrifice Programme

PETALING JAYA: Sultan Ibrahim has graciously contributed 100 cattle for this year’s Aidiladha sacrificial programme as part of efforts to assist communities in need and uphold the spirit of the Islamic celebration.

According to a statement shared on the official Facebook page of Sultan Ibrahim, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong also personally recited the intention for the korban ritual during a ceremony held at Istana Negara today.

The recitation was led by Istana Negara religious officer Munir Md. Salleh.

To facilitate the sacrificial rites, Sultan Ibrahim authorised the Istana Negara korban secretariat to carry out the ibadah korban on behalf of His Majesty.

The King also decreed that the sacrificial meat be distributed to Istana Negara staff members as well as underprivileged groups, including asnaf recipients and B40 communities.

The contribution reflects the monarch’s continued commitment towards charitable initiatives and community welfare, particularly during major Islamic celebrations such as Eid al-Adha.

Aidiladha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, is celebrated by Muslims worldwide and symbolises sacrifice, compassion and assistance for those in need through the distribution of korban meat.

The annual observance also serves to strengthen social solidarity and encourage acts of generosity within society.
