Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan Expands Online Services to Reduce Travel and Fuel Consumption

PUTRAJAYA: The Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan (JPJ) is strengthening its push for digital services, encouraging the public to complete transactions online to minimise visits to physical counters and reduce fuel usage.

JPJ director-general Aedy Fadly Ramli said the move is in response to rising fuel costs driven by global energy market uncertainties.

He noted that digital platforms such as the department’s official portal and the MyJPJ application now offer a wide range of services for users to manage their transactions conveniently.

“A total of 33 transactions are available through the online portal, while 16 more can be accessed via the MyJPJ app.

“This allows users to complete their transactions without the need for physical visits,” he said.

Saving Time and Costs

He explained that the digital approach helps users save time and reduce fuel expenses by cutting down unnecessary travel.

It also helps ease congestion at JPJ offices, particularly during peak periods.

More Efficient and User-Friendly Services

Aedy Fadly said the initiative aligns with the government’s efforts to improve the efficiency of public service delivery through digital transformation.

The approach not only speeds up processes but also enhances accessibility and convenience for users.

Commitment to Digital Transformation

JPJ remains committed to expanding its use of technology to ensure its services remain efficient and relevant.

The move also supports national energy-saving efforts by reducing reliance on physical travel.
