
MACC to Host Premier Academic Discourse to Strengthen Anti-Corruption Education Efforts
KUALA LUMPUR, April 6 — The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will organise its inaugural Wacana Ilmiah Perdana as part of broader efforts to enhance integrity education and strengthen preventive measures against corruption.
The event, scheduled to take place tomorrow at the World Trade Centre (WTC), is expected to draw around 300 participants, including enforcement officers, academics, and community leaders from both public and private sectors.
MACC Strategic Communications Division director Hisyam Mohd Yusoff said the programme aims to create a platform for in-depth discussions on the role of education in shaping a generation that values integrity and accountability.
“The discourse is designed to foster meaningful dialogue among stakeholders to reinforce integrity within both the education system and national governance,” he said in a statement.
Cross-Sector Engagement to Drive Change
Hisyam noted that the initiative brings together voices from multiple sectors, ensuring a holistic approach to anti-corruption efforts that goes beyond enforcement alone.
He emphasised that education and public awareness are critical components in cultivating ethical values and preventing misconduct.
Keynote by MACC Chief Commissioner
The programme will feature a keynote address by MACC Chief Commissioner Azam Baki titled “Empowering Integrity and Governance through Ethical Leadership”.
The speech is expected to highlight the importance of ethical leadership in strengthening governance frameworks and building public trust.
Distinguished Panel of Speakers
The discourse will also include a panel of distinguished speakers such as deputy chief commissioner (Prevention) Azmi Kamaruzaman, Asia e University vice-chancellor Noor Raihan Ab. Hamid, Malaysian Employers Federation chief executive Rosmamn Mohamed, and Bentong MP Young Syefura Othman.
The session will be moderated by Mustafar Ali, a board member of the Malaysian Institute of Integrity.
Building a Culture of Integrity
The initiative reflects MACC’s continued commitment to promoting integrity through education and engagement with various stakeholders.
It is also seen as a strategic effort to nurture a culture of accountability and ethical conduct across society.
