Dewa 19 Announces Kuala Lumpur Return This June With Special Guest Padi Reborn for Major Arena Concert
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 23 — Iconic Indonesian rock band Dewa 19 is set to return to Kuala Lumpur this June, marking their highly anticipated comeback after their last major performance in Malaysia three years ago.
The concert, titled Dewa 19 – Cintaku Tertinggal di Malaysia, will be held at Axiata Arena on June 6 and will feature Indonesian rock group Padi Reborn as a special guest performer.
The event is organised by Icon Entertainment, a promoter known for hosting major concerts in Malaysia, including the GenKRU concert series.
First-ever joint concert in Malaysia
This upcoming show will mark the first time Dewa 19 and Padi Reborn share the same stage in Malaysia, bringing together two legendary bands with decades of influence in the Indonesian music scene.
Icon Entertainment founder Iman Tang said the concert will revolve around themes of love and nostalgia, delivered through the bands’ most beloved songs.
He said both bands have built loyal fan communities known as Baladewa and Sobat Padi.
“This concert will allow fans to relive memories through iconic songs that have defined generations.
“Both bands have the charisma and musical strength to create an unforgettable experience,” he said.
High-end LED stage concept planned
Tang also hinted that the concert may feature advanced LED stage technology to enhance the visual experience for audiences.
The concept was inspired by his experience attending a show at The Sphere in Las Vegas, known for its massive LED displays and immersive visuals.
The concert will feature three of Dewa 19’s main vocalists — Ari Lasso, Virzha, and Marcello Tahitoe — along with former drummer Tyo Nugros.
Their presence is expected to deliver a complete and powerful performance.
Malaysia remains an important market
Tang said Malaysia has always been a key destination for Dewa 19, as the band has built a strong and loyal fan base here.
He said the band has long wanted to return after their last concert in Kuala Lumpur in 2023.
“Malaysia has always held a special place in their hearts because of the incredible support from fans,” he said.
Fans are encouraged to attend wearing their favourite band T-shirts to match the concert theme.
Ticket sales begin February 27
Tickets will go on sale on Feb 27 starting at 11am via ticket2u.com.my.
Prices range from RM236 to RM488 depending on seating category.
The concert is expected to be one of the most anticipated live music events in Malaysia this year, attracting rock fans from across the region.
