KUALA LUMPUR — The Royal Malaysia Police have stepped up efforts to locate 36 individuals wanted in connection with a series of serious crimes, including murder, rape, kidnapping and armed robbery cases reported in the capital over the past several years.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Fadil Marsus said the suspects are currently being tracked by the Criminal Investigation Department as part of ongoing enforcement operations targeting violent offenders.

He revealed that eight of the individuals are wanted in connection with murder investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code, one of the most severe criminal offences under Malaysian law.

In addition, five suspects are being sought to assist in rape investigations under Section 376 of the Penal Code.

Police are also searching for individuals linked to kidnapping cases under the Kidnapping Act 1961, as well as suspects involved in impersonating public officials.

The remaining individuals are wanted for various other offences, including armed gang robbery, housebreaking, robbery, property damage and causing serious injury using dangerous weapons.

Some suspects are also being investigated under the Firearms (Increased Penalties) Act 1971, which imposes strict penalties for firearm-related crimes.

Fadil said police are actively pursuing all leads using intelligence gathering and coordinated enforcement efforts.

He stressed that authorities remain fully committed to bringing all suspects to justice.

He added that public safety remains the police’s top priority and firm action will continue to be taken against individuals involved in violent crime.
