Cili Kampung Acquires Half of Dotty’s Pastries & Coffee
Accelerates Growth Strategy in Malaysia’s Premium Café Market
KUALA LUMPUR — Malaysian food and beverage company Cili Kampung Malaysia has strengthened its expansion strategy by acquiring a 50 percent stake in Dotty’s Pastries & Coffee Sdn Bhd, positioning both brands for accelerated nationwide growth.
The strategic investment values Dotty’s at RM23.9 million and marks a significant milestone as the bakery café brand enters its next phase of development after 10 years in operation.
Through the deal, Cili Kampung subscribed to 11,956,234 newly issued shares, securing equal ownership and establishing itself as a key strategic partner in Dotty’s future direction.
As part of the expansion plan, both companies have committed RM5 million in growth capital to support business development initiatives.
The funding will be used to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen supply chain capabilities and support the opening of new outlets in key locations across Malaysia.
The reopening of Dotty’s flagship outlet at Suria KLCC under a refreshed concept signals the brand’s readiness for expansion under its new ownership structure.
The partnership combines Dotty’s halal-certified central kitchen, artisan bakery expertise and strong customer following with Cili Kampung’s experience in scaling restaurant operations.
This strategic collaboration is expected to strengthen both brands’ presence in Malaysia’s growing premium halal café and modern Malay dining sectors.
Cili Kampung director Anwar Azeez described the acquisition as part of the company’s long-term strategy to build sustainable Malaysian brands.
He said the partnership would create a stronger operational platform to support continued growth.
Cili Kampung currently operates outlets in several key locations, including Klang Valley, Penang, Langkawi and Kelantan, and plans to expand further.
Chief marketing officer Kesavan Purusotman said the acquisition aligns with the company’s broader portfolio expansion strategy.
He added that the partnership would help increase Dotty’s visibility and accelerate its domestic growth.
Dotty’s founder Nadia Nasimuddin described the partnership as a major milestone for the brand’s future.
She said the collaboration would enable Dotty’s to expand while maintaining the quality and identity that define the brand.
The move is expected to further strengthen Malaysia’s premium café industry and drive long-term growth.
