Live Horse Welcomes Guests as Sama-Sama Hotel KLIA Marks Chinese New Year with Unique Celebration
SEPANG — Sama-Sama Hotel KLIA delivered a distinctive Chinese New Year celebration this year by introducing live horses at its entrance, creating a memorable festive experience for guests and visitors.
The presence of a horse and pony immediately captured attention, with many guests stopping to take photographs and interact with the animals, making it one of the most unique features of the celebration.
Inside the hotel, the lobby was transformed with striking red decorations symbolising prosperity, happiness, and good fortune, reflecting the traditional spirit of Chinese New Year.
Lanterns and festive ornaments enhanced the atmosphere, creating a vibrant and welcoming environment for visitors.
Guests from both Malaysia and abroad were seen enjoying the festive ambience while taking part in various cultural activities organised by the hotel.
One of the highlights of the celebration was the lion dance performance, which entertained crowds with energetic movements and traditional music.
The performance added excitement and reinforced the cultural significance of the celebration.
Sama-Sama Hotel KLIA General Manager Sundralingam Kulendra said the Chinese New Year open house is part of the hotel’s long-standing tradition.
He explained that the event is organised each year to celebrate the festive season with guests and the surrounding community.
He said the celebration reflects the hotel’s commitment to promoting cultural diversity and strengthening community ties.
The event also supports Malaysia’s tourism goals, particularly in conjunction with the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign.
As part of its corporate social responsibility initiative, the hotel invited children from Bodhi Home in Cheras to participate in the celebration.
The children were given the opportunity to enjoy festive meals, interactive sessions, and time with the horses.
The programme provided them with meaningful and joyful experiences during the festive season.
The hotel also organised traditional Chinese calligraphy sessions, allowing guests to receive personalised blessings written by professional calligraphers.
This activity provided deeper cultural engagement for visitors.
Through its unique approach, Sama-Sama Hotel KLIA successfully created a festive celebration that blended cultural heritage, tourism, and community engagement.
The event highlighted Malaysia’s multicultural identity and reinforced the country’s position as a key tourism destination ahead of 2026.
