Prime Minister Calls for Dialogue and Mutual Understanding
KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has called on Malaysians to remain united and not allow provocations, emotions, or differences in opinion to undermine the harmony that defines the nation’s multicultural society.
He said diversity should be embraced as a strength and used as a platform to deepen mutual understanding rather than becoming a source of division.
According to him, Malaysians should prioritise dialogue, negotiation, and wisdom when addressing disagreements while rejecting prejudice and hostility.
Festive Season Symbolises Renewal and Optimism
In his Chinese New Year message, Anwar said the celebration represents prosperity, renewed hope, and confidence in facing the future.
He added that the Year of the Horse symbolises courage, perseverance, and determination, while also reminding people to act with wisdom and moderation.
The Prime Minister also referenced the teachings of Confucius, noting that harmony can only be achieved when people respect and understand one another.
Unity and Respect Essential for National Progress
Anwar said shared values such as mutual respect and compassion are crucial in ensuring peace and stability in Malaysia’s diverse society.
He expressed confidence that the country will continue to move forward as long as these values remain strong.
He concluded by extending Chinese New Year greetings to Malaysians and wishing them continued prosperity and well-being.
“Gong Xi Fa Cai, Xin Nian Kuai Le, and Ma Nian Xin Da Yun,” he said.
