Fasha Sandha stays composed over Sharifah Sakinah-Aidil Aziz photo, dismisses online backlash as unnecessary

PETALING JAYA, Feb 14, 2026 – Actress Fasha Sandha has taken a calm and measured stance amid online backlash triggered by a viral photo showing Sharifah Sakinah hugging her husband, Aidil Aziz, at a recent drama promotional event.

The image, captured during a publicity session for Sujud Terakhir Encik Norman, quickly made its rounds on social media, prompting debate over the appropriateness of the gesture.

While some netizens questioned the hug within the context of marital boundaries, others viewed it as a harmless and professional interaction common in the entertainment industry.

Fasha, however, has chosen not to escalate the matter.

The 42-year-old actress said she does not see the situation as something that warrants prolonged discussion, stressing that over-commenting could lead to misinterpretation.

“Sakinah is someone I admire and have known for a long time. I understand her personality and the working dynamics involved.

“I’m comfortable with her and aware of the professional context. If people ask about the hug, I don’t feel the need to elaborate. To me, it’s too trivial to be blown out of proportion,” she said.

The controversy gained traction after certain social media users framed the image as insensitive, leading to speculative commentary online.

However, Fasha’s response indicates that she does not intend to allow public opinion to disrupt either her marriage or her professional relationships.

Choosing restraint over reaction

Fasha revealed that she has not been closely monitoring negative comments and prefers not to engage in social media disputes.

According to her, in today’s digital climate, any additional explanation may fuel further controversy rather than resolve it.

“Even if we say more, people will interpret it their own way. So it’s better for me to remain silent.

“I don’t really read the negative comments. They’re just like passing wind,” she said.

She also admitted that she is not particularly active online due to her busy schedule managing work commitments and family life.

“I’ve only recently started exploring Threads. I’m usually slow when it comes to social media because I’m busy with work and my children,” she added.

Fasha’s composed approach reflects a conscious decision to maintain dignity and professionalism in the face of online scrutiny.

Despite the social media noise, she appears determined not to let speculative discourse undermine her personal stability or working relationships within the entertainment industry.
