Slope repairs on Jalan Lojing-Gua Musang expected to begin in March – Nanta
GUA MUSANG: Slope repair work on the FT185 route, Section 107.6, Jalan Lojing-Gua Musang here is expected to begin next March, said Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi.
He said the construction of a temporary road diversion was carried out first so that the route could be reopened to users.
“The Slope Engineering Branch, Public Works Department (JKR) as the project director is given the responsibility to plan, manage and supervise the maintenance work on the slope involved.
“The implementation of the long-term contract for slope maintenance works reflects the MADANI Government’s concern and commitment to continue improving the quality of road infrastructure, including slopes, for the comfort and safety of users,” he said.
He told reporters after inspecting the Lingkaran Tengah Utama (LTU) Package 3B and 3C project site, here today, which was also attended by Kelantan Public Works Director Nik Badlihisham Nik Ismail.
On Dec 3, the route in question had to be completely closed to all types of vehicles due to a landslide.
In another development, Nanta said the Federal Government has also allocated RM96 million to upgrade the East-West Highway (JRTB) involving the alignment in Kelantan.
Yesterday, he was reported to have said that RM350 million has been allocated to upgrade the JRTB in Perak or the FT004 route under Rolling Plan 1 (RP1) of the 13th Malaysia Plan (RMK13) to ensure that the route is safer, more comfortable and more resilient.
Preliminary work for the project can begin this year and it is hoped that some of it will begin to be physically implemented next year.
