Home Ministry investigates alleged immigration breaches linked to Network School in Forest City

PUTRAJAYA: The Home Ministry has launched a comprehensive investigation into allegations of possible immigration law violations involving Network School in Forest City, following claims that foreign nationals may have entered Malaysia using passports issued by third countries.

The ministry said the probe is focused on determining whether Malaysia’s immigration system or travel facilities were misused, stressing that any issue involving national security or immigration compliance will be treated with the utmost seriousness.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the ministry confirmed that the investigation is being conducted jointly by the Immigration Department, the Royal Malaysia Police and other relevant enforcement agencies.

Authorities are examining the identities and nationalities of the individuals involved, the authenticity and validity of the travel documents used to enter Malaysia, and whether the appropriate immigration procedures were followed.

Investigators are also assessing the immigration passes or entry facilities granted to the individuals, the declared purpose of their visit and whether their activities complied with Malaysian immigration laws and other applicable legislation.

According to the ministry, the investigation will establish whether there was any abuse of immigration privileges, submission of false information or other offences that could compromise Malaysia’s national security or public interest.

The Home Ministry stressed that enforcement action will be taken should investigations uncover evidence of legal violations or misuse of immigration processes.

It reiterated that Malaysia remains committed to safeguarding the integrity of its immigration system while ensuring that all foreign nationals entering the country comply fully with existing laws and regulations.

The ministry also urged members of the public to avoid speculation or the dissemination of unverified information that could disrupt ongoing investigations or prejudice the inquiry.

The investigation follows public concerns raised over allegations that Israeli nationals had participated in programmes organised by Network School in Forest City by travelling on passports issued by other countries.

Earlier, Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi called on the relevant authorities to thoroughly investigate the claims and determine whether any immigration or security regulations had been breached.

The Home Ministry said further updates will be provided once investigations have progressed and reiterated that any action taken will be based on evidence and in accordance with Malaysian law.
