PHONO Expands European Renewable Energy Push with New Solar and Storage Technologies

MUNICH, July 2 — Solar technology company PHONO has strengthened its expansion strategy in Europe by introducing a broad portfolio of photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage solutions at Intersolar Europe 2026, while securing new strategic partnerships in Spain and Italy.

The product showcase coincided with the 20th anniversary of its parent company, SUMEC ENERGY, in the clean energy industry and highlighted PHONO’s focus on providing integrated renewable energy solutions for residential, commercial and utility-scale applications.

Led by Chairman Guo Hongwei and Chief Executive Officer Zhong Zaifeng, the company’s delegation presented technologies spanning solar modules, battery storage systems, intelligent operation and maintenance tools, and integrated energy management solutions.

Among the key products unveiled were the Draco Matrix series of N-type TOPCon photovoltaic modules and the Quasar series of back-contact (BC) modules, designed for large-scale solar farms, commercial rooftops and specialised vertical installations.

PHONO also announced that it has become the first Chinese photovoltaic brand to receive full-scenario certification from Germany’s DIBt across its entire product range, a milestone the company said strengthens its compliance credentials within the European market.

In the energy storage segment, the company introduced an integrated solar-storage-charging ecosystem intended to support decentralised renewable energy projects.

Its latest SCUTUM solar carport system combines photovoltaic generation with modular battery storage equipped with an intelligent Battery Management System (iBMS), allowing electricity to be generated, stored and consumed within a single integrated platform for applications such as community microgrids and large parking facilities.

PHONO also displayed automated operation and maintenance technologies, including Lantern-series robotic solar panel cleaning systems designed for complex rooftop installations, as well as solar fencing products that combine power generation with perimeter security.

Beyond product launches, the company organised a series of themed engagement sessions throughout the exhibition to strengthen relationships with customers and industry partners.

During its “Insight Day” programme, PHONO highlighted its recognition as a BloombergNEF Tier 1 solar module manufacturer for 13 consecutive years and its Top Performer ranking across seven categories in the PVEL 2026 Scorecard.

The company also premiered a documentary titled The Great Journey during “Vision Day”, outlining its long-term business philosophy and sustainability strategy.

On “Sustainability Day”, PHONO released its inaugural Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report, detailing initiatives focused on responsible manufacturing and circular economy practices, including its Solar Retrofit and Asset Upgrade (SRAU) programme.

The exhibition also delivered commercial outcomes for the company, with PHONO signing strategic cooperation agreements with energy companies in Spain and Italy to expand its presence in key European renewable energy markets.

PHONO said it will continue investing in long-life solar technologies and integrated clean energy solutions as demand for renewable electricity, battery storage and smart energy infrastructure continues to grow across Europe.
