PAS Announces Johor Election Strategy, Calls on Voters to Reject PH

KUALA LUMPUR: PAS has outlined its campaign direction for the Johor state election, announcing that the party will urge voters not to support Pakatan Harapan (PH), including in constituencies where the contest is between PH and Barisan Nasional (BN).

The decision was reached during a special meeting of the party leadership and was subsequently announced by PAS President Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang in a statement outlining several resolutions adopted ahead of polling day.

According to Abdul Hadi, the party has agreed to fully mobilise its election machinery across the 11 state constituencies being contested by PAS in Johor as part of its campaign strategy for the state election.

He said the party’s campaign would continue to focus on engaging voters from all segments of society through the slogan “Jom Jaga Johor”, which has been adopted as PAS’ principal campaign message during the election period.

In addition to outlining its campaign activities, Abdul Hadi said PAS remains committed to preserving what the party described as Malay-Muslim political influence in Johor as part of its broader political objectives for the state election.

The PAS president also called on voters not to cast their ballots in favour of Pakatan Harapan, including in constituencies where only PH and Barisan Nasional candidates are contesting the election. The statement forms part of the party’s official campaign position ahead of polling.

Throughout the campaign period, PAS said its election machinery would continue reaching out to voters across different communities while intensifying grassroots engagement in the constituencies where the party is fielding candidates.

The mobilisation of campaign workers is expected to include voter engagement activities, community programmes and election-related outreach as parties intensify efforts to secure support before polling day.

Beyond the Johor election, Abdul Hadi disclosed that PAS has also begun making early preparations for the upcoming Negeri Sembilan state election. While no additional details were announced, the party indicated that organisational preparations are already underway as part of its longer-term electoral planning.

The Johor state election continues to attract significant political attention, with competing parties and coalitions stepping up campaign activities across the state. Political leaders have intensified their messaging as polling day approaches, with each coalition presenting its respective policies, campaign themes and electoral strategies to voters.

PAS said it would continue implementing the resolutions adopted during its special meeting while maintaining its focus on campaign activities throughout the remainder of the Johor state election period.
