Midea Launches Agentic Factory Solution to Help Chinese Firms Expand Globally

FOSHAN: Midea Group has unveiled its new “Agentic Factory Overseas Expansion Solution,” marking a new phase in the company’s efforts to help Chinese manufacturers expand their operations around the world.

The solution is built on the experience gained from transforming Midea’s Jingzhou washing machine plant, which became the world’s first factory to receive the WRCA Agentic Factory certification in August 2025.

According to Midea, the new system is modular, standardised and field-tested, allowing it to be rapidly deployed across manufacturing facilities in different countries.

The solution consists of 12 replicable modules covering areas such as cross-cultural workforce training, cross-border supply chain management, AI-powered quality control and intelligent factory automation.

Midea noted that many Chinese companies are increasingly looking overseas for growth opportunities, but continue to face challenges including long-distance supply chains, varying quality standards and workforce management across different legal and cultural environments.

The company said the solution has already been successfully implemented at its refrigeration factory in Thailand.

Using 72 AI applications and 13 intelligent agents across 25 operational scenarios, the facility reduced end-to-end order lead time by 43 per cent while lowering customer complaint rates by 32 per cent.

Training and certification cycles for new employees were also shortened by 62 per cent, demonstrating that China’s smart manufacturing model can be effectively replicated on a global scale.

For workforce development, Midea introduced a multilingual training platform powered by AIGC and virtual reality technologies.

The system reduced the time required to train new employees from eight days to just three days.

On quality management, the company launched its VOC-to-VOP solution, supported by an expert database containing more than 12 million quality-related cases.

The platform enables customer complaints to be traced directly to production lines and root causes to be identified within seconds.

To strengthen supply chain resilience, Midea also developed a cross-border AI agent capable of monitoring 35 critical supply chain nodes in real time.

The technology reduced response times to operational disruptions from 48 hours to less than 12 hours while maintaining raw material delivery rates above 96 per cent.

In conjunction with the launch, Midea introduced the “Midea Go-Global Partner Program,” aimed at helping business partners expand internationally.

Midea Vice President and Chief Digital Officer Simon Zhang said the initiative goes beyond providing standardised equipment by sharing the company’s accumulated experience and implementation expertise.

He added that the collaborative model has already delivered encouraging results, with several strategic partners accelerating factory development and expanding their overseas business operations.
