MMU Introduces Future-Oriented AI and Digital Programmes for School Leavers

CYBERJAYA: Multimedia University (MMU) is expanding its academic portfolio with a strong focus on artificial intelligence (AI) and digital disciplines, offering SPM graduates pathways into high-demand, future-driven careers.

The university said its programmes are structured to meet evolving industry expectations, equipping students with skills aligned to the digital economy while enhancing their employment prospects upon graduation.

MMU president Mazliham Mohd Su’ud encouraged prospective students and parents to explore these opportunities during the upcoming Open Day 2026.

The event will be held this weekend at the Melaka campus, followed by another session on May 23 and 24 at the Cyberjaya campus.

Interactive platform for academic exploration

Mazliham described the Open Day as an essential engagement platform where visitors can gain deeper insight into available programmes, campus facilities and MMU’s technology-centric learning environment.

“Visitors can interact directly with lecturers and receive personalised guidance on course options and career pathways,” he said.

The sessions also allow students to better understand programme structures and how they align with industry needs.

Broad academic offerings across disciplines

Beyond AI and digital studies, MMU continues to offer programmes in fields such as information and communications technology (ICT), creative multimedia, engineering, as well as business and management.

Other areas include cinematic arts, accounting, law and strategic communication, spanning foundation, diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

New specialised AI programmes launched

Among the latest programmes are a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Applied Artificial Intelligence at the Cyberjaya campus, alongside computer science and IT postgraduate programmes focusing on AI and cybersecurity at the Melaka campus.

These programmes are designed to produce graduates with both theoretical knowledge and practical, industry-relevant expertise.

Access to financial support and campus experience

Visitors attending the Open Day can also obtain information on scholarships and financial aid, including options provided by Yayasan Universiti Multimedia and Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional.

Mazliham said experiencing the campus environment firsthand is vital in helping students and parents make informed decisions about higher education.
