Norish Karman Clarifies Donation Issue, Rejects ‘Scammer’ Allegations
PETALING JAYA: Actress Norish Karman has denied allegations labelling her as a scammer following her receipt of a RM200,000 contribution from well-known entrepreneur Aliff Syukri.
According to Norish, the accusations circulating on social media were deeply upsetting, especially as the assistance was received during a period when she was facing personal hardship and health issues.
She explained that part of the money would be used to settle debts owed to friends who had previously supported her through difficult times.
She added that anyone with unresolved debt-related matters could contact her directly instead of spreading speculation or tarnishing her reputation on Facebook.
“If I were truly a scammer, I would not come forward and speak openly like this. I am simply a single mother fighting for my children,” she said during a podcast appearance.
Norish also revealed that she plans to use part of the contribution as capital to start a food and beverage business.
The actress, known for the television drama Spa Q, said she has always been passionate about the food industry and hopes to open a small food stall as a new source of income.
According to her, many fans had also repeatedly asked about her plans to open her own business.
“I want to start something that can provide continuous income, perhaps a small stall or eatery,” she said.
However, she stressed that the RM200,000 would not be spent recklessly and would instead be managed carefully.
Apart from repaying debts and starting a business, Norish said she also wanted to secure her children’s future, including arranging insurance protection for them.
She added that today’s rising cost of living requires careful financial planning even when receiving a large amount of money.
Previously, Norish received financial assistance from Aliff Syukri after reports surfaced that she had suffered health complications requiring hospital treatment in April.
However, allegations later emerged online claiming that she intended to use the money to purchase a new car.
