
Agong Confers Appointment Letters to 15 Malaysian Diplomatic Representatives
Sultan Ibrahim today officiated the conferment of appointment letters to 15 Malaysian diplomatic representatives who will soon begin their assignments abroad.
The official ceremony was held at Istana Negara and involved the appointment of ambassadors and high commissioners to several strategic countries across Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Oceania.
Among those receiving appointment letters was Ahmad Rozian Abd Ghani, who was appointed as Malaysia’s ambassador to Japan.
Anizan Siti Hajjar Adnin was appointed as Malaysia’s high commissioner to Singapore, while Azfar Mohamad Mustafar will head Malaysia’s diplomatic mission in the United Kingdom.
During the same ceremony, the King also presented appointment letters to Fenny Nuli as ambassador to Austria and Abu Bakar Mamat as high commissioner to New Zealand.
Norli Muadza Mohd. Noor was also appointed as ambassador to Laos.
Meanwhile, Ahmad Kamrizamil Mohd. Riza was named ambassador to Oman, while Sharon Ho Swee Peng will lead Malaysia’s diplomatic mission in Ireland.
Other appointments included SS Amarjit Singh to Finland, Fairuz Adli Mohd Rozali to Timor-Leste and Adlan Mohd. Shaffieq to Turkiye.
Malaysia also appointed KR Suresh Kumar as ambassador to Chile, Anwar Udzir to Lebanon, Rafedah Abdul Aziz to Uzbekistan and Aznifah Isnariah Abdul Ghani to Azerbaijan.
The appointments reflect Malaysia’s continued efforts to strengthen diplomatic ties and international cooperation with strategic partner nations worldwide.
The newly appointed representatives are expected to play important roles in expanding bilateral cooperation involving trade, investment, education, security and regional diplomacy.
In a separate ceremony, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong also received credentials from seven newly appointed foreign diplomatic representatives to Malaysia.
They included Dharshana Mahendra Perera, Majid Halim, Nubiela Yanarith Ayala and Dudley McKinley Thomas.
Also presenting credentials to the King were Ivana Golubovic-Duboka, Fernando Miguel and Zada Seidou.
The credential presentation ceremony forms part of the official diplomatic protocol before representatives formally begin their assignments in their respective host countries.
