2027 Kia Telluride X-Pro Earns Best Three-Row Family SUV Honour From NWAPA

IRVINE, California: Kia America has continued to strengthen its presence in the North American SUV market after its latest 2027 Kia Telluride X-Pro was named Best Three-Row Family SUV by the Northwest Automotive Press Association (NWAPA).

The award was announced following the vehicle’s strong performance during the annual NWAPA Mudfest, a major testing programme where professional automotive journalists evaluate SUVs, crossovers and pickup trucks under real-world driving conditions.

The event focuses on assessing vehicles across daily driving situations and off-road challenges, including comfort, technology, handling and rugged capability.

Russell Wager, Vice President of Marketing at Kia America, said the recognition demonstrates how the second-generation Telluride successfully builds upon the reputation of the previous model while delivering major improvements in design, performance and technology.

According to him, the 2027 Kia Telluride X-Pro was developed to meet the demands of modern consumers seeking a fully capable family SUV that combines premium comfort with rugged versatility.

“We are honoured that the new-generation Telluride has been recognised by this highly respected group of automotive journalists.

“This achievement shows that Telluride continues to evolve as a family SUV offering versatile design, spacious interiors, modern technology and enhanced off-road capability through the X-Pro variant,” he said.

The second-generation model entered the United States market earlier this year with several major updates, including the introduction of a turbocharged engine option for the first time.

The X-Pro variant also received upgrades to its driving systems and off-road features aimed at buyers with active lifestyles and outdoor adventure interests.

2027 Kia Telluride X-Pro additionally features a more aggressive exterior design along with a more premium and modern cabin compared to the previous generation.

The SUV is also equipped with advanced driver assistance systems and smart safety technologies that have become increasingly important to today’s consumers.

Now in its 32nd edition, the NWAPA Mudfest brought together 18 NWAPA automotive journalists to test 18 crossover, SUV and pickup models at The Ridge Motorsports Park.

The first day of testing focused on on-road evaluations including acceleration, steering response, braking and driving stability.

The second day centred on specially designed off-road courses to assess traction, ground clearance, suspension capability and advanced off-road driving technologies.

According to organisers, the final results reflected how effectively each vehicle performed across a wide range of real-world situations relevant to modern SUV lifestyles.

The victory is expected to further strengthen Kia America’s standing in the increasingly competitive three-row family SUV segment in North America.
