Asian Business Golf Championship 2026 Set To Position Malaysia As Regional Corporate Golf Destination
SHAH ALAM: Asian Business Golf Championship 2026 is set to launch its inaugural edition this June with the goal of establishing Malaysia as a leading hub for corporate golf and business networking across Asia.
The championship, which combines sports and corporate engagement, will feature seven qualifying rounds held across Selangor, Negeri Sembilan and Perak between June and October this year.
The grand finale of the tournament will take place at The Els Club Teluk Datai in Langkawi from October 11 to October 14.
Asian Business Golf Championship 2026 is being introduced as a fully Malaysian-developed corporate golf platform held under the royal patronage of the Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah.
The championship was officially launched earlier today at Kota Permai Golf & Country Club by Tengku Amir Shah himself.
During the launch ceremony, the Raja Muda highlighted Malaysia’s strong potential to emerge as a premier corporate golf destination in the region due to its internationally recognised golf facilities and rapidly growing business community.
According to him, golf today is no longer viewed purely as a recreational activity but has evolved into an important platform for strengthening professional relationships and creating strategic business opportunities among industry players.
“Malaysia possesses many high-quality golf clubs and a highly active business community within Asia.
“Golf has the ability to connect the worlds of business and sports through healthy competition while strengthening professional networking opportunities.
“I hope that one day this tournament will not only be held in Malaysia but also expand into other Asian countries,” he said following the launch event.
The tournament is organised by Elora Global with support from title sponsor Kueen Lai Group of Companies, a Selangor-based property development company.
Organisers expect Asian Business Golf Championship 2026 to attract participation from corporate leaders, investors, entrepreneurs and industry players from various countries seeking to expand their business networks through sports.
Apart from serving as a competitive sporting event, the championship is also viewed as an opportunity to promote Malaysia as an international golf tourism destination.
The arrival of foreign participants is expected to generate positive economic spillover effects for the tourism, hospitality and local business sectors throughout the duration of the tournament.
Organisers additionally hope the championship can grow into a prestigious annual event capable of placing Malaysia alongside other nations known for hosting major international corporate golf tournaments.
With its combination of sports, professional networking and tourism promotion, ABGC is seen as having the potential to become one of Asia’s largest business golf platforms in the coming years.
